CONGRAZENETEU’S SECOND PARTNER VISIT HEADS TO GERMANY

The ConGrazeNetEU partner visit Germany takes place this August, as a team member from ACOBIJA travels to Schleswig-Holstein to see Bunde Wischen’s conservation grazing sites firsthand and keep the project’s momentum going in person.

The visit runs from 21 to 23 August. Back in May, Bunde Wischen’s visit to Aragón was largely about getting the digital foundations in place: launching the ConGrazeNetEU website and online forum together. This time, with those foundations already up and running, the focus shifts.

The two partners will turn to the project’s other actions: keeping the online forum active, producing the educational video series, and, above all, giving social media the regular attention. As with the first visit, the days combine field time on Bunde Wischen’s grazing sites with meetings with local stakeholders, so the partnership stays grounded in practice, not just planning.

What’s on the Agenda

Expect working sessions on the shared content calendar, planning for upcoming video shoots on-site in Schleswig-Holstein, and syncing on how Instagram and Bluesky posts get produced and published across both organisations. It is, in short, a chance to turn the project’s communication plan into a steady, shared routine.

Also on the way: SERE2026 in Brest, France

With the ConGrazeNetEU partner visit Germany wrapped up, we travel on to Brest on 24 August to join our partners at SERE2026, the 15th European Conference on Ecological Restoration, running from 24 to 28 August and hosted by the University of Brest with SER-Europe and REVER.

On Friday 28 August, we present Conservation Grazing Network EU project as part of session SS13, Grazing as a conservation and restoration tool — a fitting home for the project’s talk, given the topic, and one of many sessions in the conference’s full programme. The talk, “Building a European Network for Conservation Grazing: Developing a Multilingual Online Forum for Practitioners”, is delivered by Julia Wiese, of Bunde Wischen and the European Forum on Nature Conservation and Pastoralism (EFNCP), and Andrea Rodríguez, of ACOBIJA. 

Alongside the project talk, both partners bring their own work to the conference through separate posters. Bunde Wischen presents “Restoring Coastal and Semi-Open Habitats through Conservation Grazing: Lessons from Northern Germany” and ACOBIJA presents “Grazing Activity as a Tool for Conservation and Connectivity in the Iberian Range: Real Cases and Remaining Challenges”.
